GS3 Supports Mobile Computing on Nokia-Lotus Platform!
In a continuing effort to reach more customers in the IT communications field, GS3 has extended support for its workflow-enabled collaborative applications to cover Symbian 2.0-enabled cellular devices. This brings access to all collaborative applications (ie HR, Helpdesk, Purchase Request, etc) down to cellular phones making applications of GS3 truly mobile!
As a demonstration, consider the screen shots taken on one of the applications of GS3 (Purchase Request System) showing a sample of how to create a request via your cellular phone. Once submitted, the request is routed to internal computer server for submission to an approver (who could be on the move! Approval may be done via cellular phone as well!)

Case Study 1. Agents of insurance companies works on the basis of being able to submit proposals to their customers at the soonest possible time. With GS3's mobile computing solutions, agents can easily key in the age, state of health, sex, and medical history of prospective customers using just their cellular phone.
The data is submitted together with the email address of the customer. With the data transmitted to the application server, computation is automatically done with the proposal being generated. Soon, the proposal is emailed to the customer's email address.
Case Study 2. Agents of an auto supply company loiter the whole of the metropolis looking for prospective customers to sell auto parts. Being in the field, there is no way to be able to know the status of inventory of materials without calling up or sending a quick SMS to main headquarters! This condition remained true until mobile computing of GS3.
With GS3's mobile computing, an agent would just have to key in the part number of any auto component being requested by a customer. This allows the agent to be able to quickly know whether an auto part is still available in inventory, and if it is, how many is still available.
